Dr Denise Poh is an Emergency and Critical Care Registrar with advanced training in the management of critically ill and injured small animal patients. She completed her Emergency and Critical Care residency at Murdoch University in Western Australia, undertaking specialist training towards the American Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care diplomate specialist accreditation. She has pursued extensive postgraduate training in small animal and emergency medicine. Her qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Practice, as well as three Master’s degrees; a Master of Veterinary Studies in Small Animal Practice, Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies, and Master of Emergency and Critical Care. Her academic work has included the completion of a Master’s research thesis, and she has authored two articles published in peer-reviewed veterinary journals.

Alongside her clinical work, Denise is passionate about veterinary education. She is an Associate Lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, where she teaches the Emergency and Critical Care module within the Specialist Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Practice. She enjoys sharing practical, clinically relevant knowledge and helping veterinary professionals develop confidence in managing emergency and critically ill patients. Denise enjoys all aspects of emergency and critical care medicine, particularly the dynamic nature of managing complex and rapidly evolving cases. Her areas of special interest include transfusion medicine, sepsis and trauma.
