Note: Dr Katrin Voelter will be practising as a visiting specialist ophthalmologist in VES Hospital from 19 Feb 2024 to 15 Mar 2024.
Dr Katrin Voelter graduated from vet school in Munich (Germany) in 2005 and practised as a general practitioner in Switzerland and Ivory Coast after graduation. From 2011 – 2014, Dr Katrin completed her alternate residency training program at the University of Zurich and in Paris. Dr Katrin passed her ECVO board exam in 2015 and worked at the Teaching Hospital at the University of Zurich as Deputy Head of Veterinary Ophthalmology, establishing retinal surgery for small animals in Switzerland.
In 2019, Dr Katrin completed her PhD in ocular pharmacology at the Graduate College of Bern. Since 2022, she has been working in private practice, and is a member of the ECVO exam committee.
Her key interests are in corneal and intraocular surgeries, and she enjoys the diversity of working with pets, their owners, referring veterinarians and other specialists.
In her spare time, Dr Katrin loves to explore and travel to remote places. She also practices yoga and enjoys cooking.
